Meg is a floral creative based in Merritt, BC
Meg is passionate about flowers, gardening and floral design. Specializing in seasonal floral arrangements harvested from her micro urban flower farm. Flowers are her art, her peace, and wellbeing – some might argue, her obsession. From small city apartment, to bigger homes Meg’s priority was to always have enough room for a productive garden for creative floral arrangements. Slowly learning that people fell in-love with her work, which has now encouraged her and led her to a home-based floral business.
Acknowledging where she grows and lives on the ancestral, traditional and unceded territories of the Nlaka’pumux and Syilx Nations. Growing organically, designing and forage sustainably with the outmost respect for the small lot she gardens on and the surrounding land she’s permitted to forage from. Sourcing only recyclable and sustainable mechanics for her arrangements. “I care about ‘good’ bugs, bees and the Universe as a whole and I do my best to keep my carbon footprint to a minimum.”
At Morning Glory Maven, Mother Nature commands when and how much bloom there is to offer on any given day or growing season. While Meg can reasonably assure her small subscription inventory from mid-June through to the end of September, the rest is somewhat unpredictable, that’s not to say we can’t source in the off season.
The name “Morning Glory Maven” comes from Bind weed. It is not a friend to the environment and she makes no apologies for trying to rid the earth of its presence – hence the somewhat ironic name, Morning Glory Maven.
Stay tuned as I grow!
